This
is not only our predictions on who the Cowboys will draft, but with your
input,
it's also a collective work reflecting who the fans think the Cowboys should
draft. For the second year in a row a cornerback was high on our list.
Terence Newman, from Kansas State, was also a very popular choice with
those who entered site mock drafts.
Nevertheless, he was our second choice.
To date, our loyal visitors have entered hundreds of Dallas
Cowboys mock drafts in our database. Thanks to all!

Terrell
Suggs
DE - Arizona St. - First Round #5
As the draft nears, Suggs has remained steady on our board, despite the spin doctors that attempt to discount his production. Clearly the top defensive end in the 2003 NFL Draft, he has been touted as being worthy of being drafted even higher than #5, which wouldn't surprise me at all. Premium pass rushers are terribly difficult to find. Despite a couple of poor 40-yard dash times, the team that selects this pass rushing terror will get production on the field. Really, this time of year people are looking for reasons to criticize players. However, on draft day, warts turn to beauty marks for those that draft a particular player. If you recall the Dallas Cowboys pathetic pass rush of a season ago, this must be the selection given the fact that there is not a dominant offensive player worthy of the #5 selection in the draft.
I've been convinced since the hiring of Bill Parcells that the Cowboys will build a hard-hitting defense with the edge rusher that has been missing since the days of Charles Haley. Suggs fits that mold, especially when you examine his awesome use of leverage. Like Haley, he can beat the defender with the speed outside rush, a quick inside move, or use his power on a bull-rush. Kansas State Head Coach Bill Snyder said: "He is deserving of the awards that he has won. You look at the numbers and say wow, that's outstanding. You really have to look at the player to see what a tremendous football player he is. What I can appreciate about him is that he plays hard all the time and that's a message that everybody should truly understand. That's a major part of his game. He is talented. He has skill. He can run. Just the fact that he is one of those never give up guys who is playing from snap to whistle every single snap of the ball game."
As a fan I enjoy offense, but I believe in three rules. One, you have to rush the passer. Two, you must be able to run the football. And finally, you have to pass protect. If you suck in any of these areas, you cannot be a dominate football team. The drafting of Suggs gives the 'Boys a pass rush that few in the league will match, which will eliminate the passive approach fans of the Dallas Cowboys have become accustomed to the past few seasons.
"Unstoppable". -- Washington Head Coach Rick Neuheisel
"The most dominant player I have seen on film this year." --Oregon Head Coach Mike Bellotti.
Yes, the Dallas defense was good last season. However, at times, the defensive line seemingly was uttering "One Potato, Two Potato, Three Potato..." before rushing the passer. It's been awhile since the words "unstoppable" or "dominant" have been mentioned in the same breath as a Dallas defensive lineman, but they are words Bill Parcells will soon introduce to fans of the Dallas Cowboys with the drafting of Terrell Suggs.
