Lee
Suggs - RB - Virginia Tech - Second Round #38
In 1990, the Dallas Cowboys drafted #22. Now, the 'Boys must deal with the departure of NFL career rushing leader with Troy Hambrick the leading contender to carry the load. However, Hambrick doesn't fit the mold of a "Parcells' guy". In my opinion, he is more interested in his contract status, his status as a starter, and whether he will be given the respect he believes the world owes him. On the other hand, it's very possible he comes into training camp with the attitude of a team player, earning the respect of Bill Parcells and the skeptic fans such as myself. To ensure this, Hambrick must be pushed.
What better way to push him than to draft another #22 in Lee Suggs! With 53 career touchdowns, Suggs can find the end zone! At one point in his career, he scored in 24 consecutive games in which he played. The knock on Suggs is his durability as he lost almost the entire 2001 season because of a serious knee injury. Nevertheless, he recovered to have an outstanding 2002 season. He doesn't waste time finding a hole. Suggs hits the crease, and has the speed to take it the distance once he breaks through the line of scrimmage. Rated as the #2 running back heading into the draft, the NFL player that most scouts mention is Curtis Martin-- a Parcells guys. If he is available, look for the 'Boys the grab their second Suggs on day one.
