No Selection - Traded During 2002 Draft - Used To Draft CB/S Pete Hunter
I was
a critic of using this draft selection in 2003 to use as bait to move up for
Pete Hunter. However, I have since changed my mind after witnessing
his promising
play. He has good instincts, speed, and is a playmaker. He has shown he belongs
after being drafted from Virginia Union. He may well have still been on the board
later in last year's draft, but we will never know. He should
make
an
even bigger impact in 2003, but will be a lost soul if the 'Boys select Terence
Newman in
the first
round. If that occurs, Pete Hunter will be destined to be another Charlie Williams--
a guy who earned an NFL pension without ever making a difference. That also will
mean the Dallas Cowboys' 2003 fifth-round draft selection was flushed down the
toilet.
Round Six will be released on, or about, April 13, 2003.
