Felix Jones - RB - Arkansas - 1st Round #22
Felix Jones is no Darren McFadden -- at least not on paper. Then again, he will
not cost multiple draft selections, and he would look to be a great improvement
over Julius Jones who has moved on to Seattle. Felix Jones played behind
McFadden but still was a monster back in his own right with a NCAA leading 9.1
yards per carry average. Jones also can return kickoffs and led the SEC with a
31.3 average, returning two for touchdowns. He looks to be a very good back to compliment Marion
Barber with his speed. Other options include cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, but I feel
he will be drafted well before selection #22. Despite the insane chatter surrounding Pacman Jones one must
consider him a luxury -- one that is undependable and unwanted if my opinion
truly mattered. Nevertheless, even
if Pacman is signed, the cornerback position is a true need and I wouldn't be surprised to see the
'Boys move up should Rodgers-Cromartie be available as their selection nears. Yet another running back
to consider would be Oregon's Jonathan Stewart. I love his talent on the field, but because of injury,
he's not on the field. Limping or injured in college translates to injured reserve in the NFL. I want players
that will help game one against the Cleveland Browns, which is why I lean toward Felix Jones.
