Cowboys Trade for DT - 9/11/04

The Dallas Cowboys traded a undisclosed 2005 draft pick for DT Chris Cooper, who is a 6'5" 285 and in his fourth season out of Nebraska Omaha. He will provide depth on a thin line, and it's obvious Parcells saw something from his when the 'Boys and Raiders met during training camp and the preseason.

One note is the fact Cooper was one of four Oakland players fined this summer after testing positive for the steroid THG. He was placed on "reasonable-cause testing" for the rest of his careers, and will be suspended for eight games if he tests positive for any steroid again.

To make room on the roster, DB Jameel Powell was released.
