Re: Quick thoughts

Fairweather, if Ridley falls then yes, I think getting the #1 rated WR in the draft at #19 would be the pick. Not so sure about Vea. Have read some reports that he is inconsistent, and yes not sure if he fits our scheme and/or has those 3-tech qualities. What I don't understand is that teams like Mi...

Re: Quick thoughts

With the recent free agent additions to the OL and WR, LB is now our biggest need IMO. I believe we have set ourselves up to go heavy on D with this draft. So with that, at #19 I think we should do one of two things: if Smith or Edmunds fall out of the top 10, then trade up (1st and a 3rd?) to get o...

Re: Quick thoughts

After watching the Combine I am sticking with my pick: Wynn, G/T. Why? Because I think the OL is not very deep so if you want/need one, better get one early. Hernandez had a great Combine, but I just think Wynn offers better value since he can play backup OT. I would be happy with either as both can...

Quick thoughts

IMO our 3 biggest positions of need, in no particular order, are OL, WR and LB. I am always an advocate of taking BAP but of course need creeps in as well. That being said, my biggest complaint is taking a guy in the 1st round who is not going to be a starter/regular contributor. Ex. last year, sure...

Re: 1st Mock of the New Year 2018

Good job! I like your first 2 picks (IMO OL, LB and WR are biggest needs) although I don't know much about the Notre Dame WR. However, don't see the need to reach at your third pick (although again I don't know much about this DE) and lately we don't really draft small school guys early. If you had ...

Wow, way to be a Debbie Downer Fairweather! No wonder you picked that name for yourself! I think I'll go play in traffic now!

1. Jordan Willis, DE 2. Corderea Tankerseley, CB 3. Rasul Douglas, CB/S 4. Jake Butt, TE 6. Collin Buchanan, OT/OG 7. Fred Ross, WR I think CB is our biggest need, but due to the depth of the position in this draft I am going DE first. Jordan Willis produced on the field over his career, played well...

Re: Charles Tapper

I agree! I said in another post that I believe we will/should go DB with our first two picks of the draft! With the depth of quality at DB in this draft, if that is reflected in our board and our policy of BPA, then at the top of our board it should be pretty much all DBs!

But who knows? LOL

Re: 2017 Cowboys interest (meetings)

Wow, the DBs were clearly the most impressive group at the Combine! Which IMO means that our draft board's top players will be DBs because the top DBs will be much higher ranked than DL or any other group! What does that in turn mean for our draft? Well if we are going BPA, then it wouldn't shock me...

Re: Senior Bowl 2017 and who Dallas could be watching

I watched 5 minutes of Senior Bowl coverage yesterday and they had WR vs. DBs...Kupp torched King on a long fade TD, and Mayock was saying how he doubted King's speed could make him a starting CB. Too short (5'10") and too slow, no thanks. Now flip it around and I say this Kupp looks legit, he beat ...

Re: And the game ball goes to.....

Agree with John and Hollywood...the coaching and play calling was sloppy and really hurt us. Garrett's best call all night was the last timeout to ice the kicker, and it didn't even work! D was not very good, especially on 3rd down. Again lack of pass rush was painful to watch, but the blitzes worke...

Re: 2017 Draft needs and Musing before the playoffs

I don't think Solomon Thomas lasts to the 2nd anymore, after his performance in the bowl game. He is my #1 target right now, and see him as a Michael Bennett type player, able to play DE and DT on passing downs. Similar size, 6'3" 275, probably going to run a 4.75. Next favourite is Taco Charlton.

Re: Randy Gregory To Play This Week

I thought Randy Gregory played great vs. Eagles. 6 tackles and 1 sack against Jason Peters is a good day. His sack showed athleticism, hustle and determination. Let's hope he gets off the mary jane and gets his appeal sorted out.
