It's not that I disliked the idea of taking Jaylon Smith but it was where we took him.
I thought going in he would make a great 4th round pick and an OK 3rd round pick.
Never expected it in the second round.
He was top 5 on their board.

I heard he was back up choice to Ogbah.
So was Ogbah top 4 on their board

Heard on ESPN this morning that New England planned to pick Jaylon Smith at #61. So he wouldn't have made it to Rd 3

Wasn't thrilled at first but If he returns to form he's well worth the pick and more. I'm just devastated that the Giants got my favorite WR Shepard. :insane: The thought of the possibility never crossed my mind. :shootme:

NO.....Ogbah was the last 1st round grade on the Board.

Smith was up in the top 5.

Listen to Jerry....there is a CHANCE he might be able to play THIS year......LATE

This is NOT a REACH.......it's a STEAL.

They talked about this yesterday.......the nerve grows about an inch a month.

Need to get him on a strict deer antler velvet and stem cell diet to grow that knee.
Now all we need is another pass rusher.

This one will shock you.....there is a better chance that Jaylon Smith plays this year......than Myles Jack makes it to his 3rd year.

Anthony Spencer had micro-fracture surgery. He ran in the 4.6s before....and ran in 5.5 area after.

They had somewhere between 12 and 14 1st round grades.

My understanding is that Smith was #3 on the Board.

Not a real shock in that assessment thanks to LeeHarvey
LeeHarvey wrote:interesting connection between Cowboys and Jaylon Smith, from ESPN

If not for a knee injury, Smith would be a top-five pick. Maybe even the top pick. He will likely need a redshirt year in the NFL because of the injury. The Cowboys will know all they need to know about him. His brother, Rod, is a running back on their roster. One of their doctors, Dr. Dan Cooper, performed Smith’s surgery. The Cowboys have shown patience with players coming into the league with injuries, like Lee and Bruce Carter. There could come a point where the Cowboys are willing to take him, rehab him and have him take the field in 2017.
