Tashard Choice - RB

Post by MattN » Tue Nov 09, 2010 4:49 pm

Underutilized.

Has shown flashes that he can be THE feature back. Has the fire that noone but Dez Bryant has on offense.

GET THIS KID 20+ touches per game!!

I think we might see this against the Giants.

I think Choice has been the best RB on this team since that Steelers game a couple years ago, when he carries the ball. What's kept him on the bench is what he does when he's not carrying the ball: His blitz pick-up has been mediocre at best.

Tons of heart. Some fumble issues. Great all around back but not dominate at anything. Always seems to find a hole.

Tashard Choice is a guy who seems to be a bit unlucky. Out of high school, he signs with Oklahoma and red-shirts his freshman year. The next fall, one Adrian Peterson shows up, and Choice is given his outright release and transfers to Georgia Tech, where he is an extremely productive back, albiet behind a mediocre O-Line. As his stock is climbing, he gets some little nagging injuries that slow him a bit his senior year, and he falls to later rounds. He comes to the Cowboys, in the same draft as the faster, flashier Felix Jones.

He is a nice back, who can gain yards, and works hard to do it. He is NOT a very good special teams player, and that lowers his value as a third back, and rumor is that is why he didn't play much early in the year. He is a good receiver, and a competitive player. There is a place on this team for him and about 8 to 12 carries a game. He is also a good goal line runner.

He is a player who earned respect with his play against Pittsburg and the Ravens. Has a firery attitude that others want to follow. He has not been a favorite of Garrett. Is not the blocker that Barber is. Blitz pick up is what is keeping him on the bench. Now that Demarcos Murray is here, he may be a third back yet again.
