Free was born January 6, 1984...he will be 27 year old in 2011 and is a 5 year vet.

A hard worker, Free has improved his size, strength and techniques since entering the League. He has started at both Right and Left Tackle. Free's game is speed. He is quick off of the ball, and he has quick feet in pass protection. A good athlete but he lacks explosion. He gets into his targets quickly, which allows him to be a good run-blocker. Free is a luxury the Cowboys have as they search for another tackle, as Free is competent at either Tackle slot. In 2011, Free was most likely the Cowboys BEST Offensive Lineman.

Doug Free is versatile and talented. He is an athletic guard who could play either left or right. He came into the season as a question mark, he finished the season as the most consistent player on the line. He will probably play left tackle this year. However, I wouldn't be suprised if him and Tyron Smith flipped spots in a year or two.
