Game day gear

Post by markg » Tue May 24, 2011 7:48 pm

What game day AV gear are you sporting? I remember watching 'Boys games on a 9" black and white TV in the garage back in late 1960s or early 1970s while my sister watched Disney on a BIG 25" wood cabinet monster in the living room.

Visio 50" 1080i Plasma that's done me well for about 4 years now. I hook it a Yamaha 5.1 surround that sounds very nice during the games. FoxSports in particular has good mixes for Dolby Digital. They must select a certain portion of the croud to stick a mic in because the rear speakers tend to pick up some pretty detailed "even off-colored" croud responses.

Of course on Game day, I usually have Macbook Pro on my lap for CG and I'm feeling really geeky (and usually am), I'll have my older macbook running my fantasy football scores for my 6 teams..

yes, I'm a geek... I'm seeking help..

Actually, I watch quite a few of my shows these days via Hulu plus, so in fact the laptops are a part of my entermainent systems.

I gave away the 50" plasma before I deployed, so I'm back in the market for a TV. I'm thinking 70" 4K.

It will be a LONG time before I buy a 4k. Overpriced and can't tell a difference in quality right now anyway.

Nope. Satellite and Blu ray are not to that quality yet. And Cable wont be until our children are grown...if ever.

I'm still going to get a bigger TV then yours..

And it will have about 12 HDMI inputs.
