Newman Claiborne and Roy Williams are the reason that the Cowboys went with Elliott!!!! How many times are u gonna miss top 6 with DB's.

Elliott is a combo of emmitt and sanders

Love the pick!!

I agree with your point, except that Newman was a better corner with Cincy than he was in Dallas. They gave up on him too soon.
Now all we need is another pass rusher.

You expect Top 6 players to be All Pro every year. Newman and Mo were busts. Roy was great for 4-5yrs

Newman had a better overall defense in Cincinnati

obviously.. the point is, RB's in the top don't mean they are "all-pro"

How many top 6 players in the last 10 years are all pros?

Bradford and RGIII aren't even on the same team.

On the pitch Coach Brown made for Elliott to be Dallas' pick when he was available at No. 4:

Brown: Well, I think he did most of the work. He put it out on tape...It wasn't just me, it was everybody on board, the whole coaching staff was on board. We just wanted this guy because we felt he could help our whole team. Not just the offense.I've been coaching in the NFL for eight years. He's the most complete back that I've been able to scout...When you get a guy like that, and you get an opportunity to get him, you got to go get him because they're going to elevate everything around you.

"He's a humble kid," notes Brown. "He's a very intelligent kid. He talks about a lot of things other than football. He's interested in a lot of things other than football. But he wants to be the greatest to put on pads, so I'm going to help him get there."

Congrats to the Front Office for not listening to conventional misguided thinking and doing the very best thing for this team and Tony Romo. Defensive help is there and abundant and will be added in the next two days.

Could not be prouder to be a fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

I don't recall Newman being a bust. He was good. As good as he should be selected that high? Not really. But not a bust. Mo has been a bust. One more year to prove everyone wrong.
